Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan
The jurisdictions of Eureka County, White Pine County, and the Ely Shoshone Tribe are updating developing a multijurisdictional hazard mitigation plan and will host site visits in October for the contractor to talk to you directly about the project. The site visit will provide you with an opportunity to ensure that our region includes its threats and hazards of concern in our plan and assessments.
In preparation for the site visit, we would like to ask that you respond to a survey not later than close of business this Friday, September 26th.
The survey simply asks for your personal assessment of various threats and hazards – flood, wildfire, hazardous materials accidents, active shooter, etc. It also includes a section on your knowledge of and participation in both individual and community wildfire protection programs. The survey has 16 questions and will take about 20–30 minutes. Please don’t feel pressured to answer everything—just respond to the questions you feel comfortable with. Even partial input is a big help.
The survey is available at:
Again, please complete the survey not later than close of business on September 26th so that we may prepare for the site visit.
Thank you for helping us build the County’s disaster preparedness capabilities.
